A Word From the Artist...

 

Life has a funny way of leading us to where we never expected to go.  I have always had an eye for unique jewelry, clothing, decor, and art, but it took many other factors to make me decide that was what I wanted to do.  I'm not a perfected jewelry designer, but one who I feel defines "wearable art".  This is the story of Better Through Daisy...

 

The idea for the signature shard necklace was actually born in California, but didn't take flight until I landed in Wilmington, NC a short while later.  Desperate to escape the creativley binding schedules of various employers, keep the freedom to pursue acting, and utilize my Studio Art degree from Florida State University, I decided to take matters into my own hands and become my own boss...something risky, but creatively fulfilling!

 

Now that I work from home and after a few years in the South, I'm back in sunny California, and I can take my jewelry supplies to the beach to work (sorry, I had to throw that in!).  I find there is much less stress and frustration in my life, and I get to create day after day!

 

 

When I look around at all the jewelry in stores or online, I find much of it looks the same.  The same earrings, the same necklaces.  My inspiration comes from women who dare to be different.  The jewelry on many of the high profile celebs often speaks volumes about their personality and that is something I want to reflect in my pieces.  My jewelry is unique, no question about it.  It takes a certain woman to wear a big, chunky necklace, and to those who do, I salute you!  To the ladies who prefer subtle, more petite accessories, good things also come in small packages, and I'm doing my best to cater to you as well!

I thought I'd make a note of a few things and answer some questions you might have...    

 

Velvet Suede:

 

Suede is a natural fabric.  After good use of the necklaces, the suede will darken and lengthen a little due to the natural oils in your skin.  This is normal.

 

Shard Necklaces:

 

The 3 dimensional shard necklaces are each old and unique.  None of them are perfect, seeing as they are broken from vases.  Some of the metal around it is darkened and antiqued to match the shard.  This is normal.  The shard selection at Better Through Daisy is always changing.  Be sure to check back for newly listed shards!

 

Custom Quote Orders for the Shard Necklaces:

 

I can customize the back of the shard necklaces for an additional $5.00 per necklace.  There is an "add to cart" button for the quotes on the shard necklace page listed with the quote example.  This button will add the $5.00.  You can email me the quote or include it with your checkout.  They can't be long...the shards aren't that big!  Don't forget to select the shard necklace of your choice and add it to your shopping cart!

 

Sterling Silver Care:

 

Over time, the pieces that are sterling silver will tarnish slightly due to oxidation with the air.  They can be easily cleaned by taking a soft, lint free cloth and polishing them.  You can also take soapy warm water and clean them as well.  The shine will return!

 

Repairs

 

Better Through Daisy will replace or repair wear damage to your jewelry for a $10 charge.  This includes shipping back to you.  Please email us if you have questions about repairs!

 

Shipping and Handling:

 

For US orders, the cost is $4.00 for the first $20, and and increases slightly depending on the total after that, reaching $6 at the most.  That can be determined at checkout.  The shipping and handling cost covers the shipping and packaging, and also helps with Paypal fees and website charges.  International orders, please add an additional $4 for shipping via Global Priority mail.  North Carolina residents please add 7% sales tax. 

 

Privacy

 

All of your personal information including address and email is used solely by Better Through Daisy and will not be sold or distributed to any other parties.

 

Return Policy

 

Due to the artistic nature of our work and each piece being one of a kind, we do not accept returns.  In the unlikely event that you are not satisfied with your jewelry, we will offer you a credit for the paid amount of the piece you're exchanging once it has been returned to us with it's original packaging, unused, and in mint condition.
